Antarctic exploration through the eyes of artists and learn about working in an Antarctic base.Antarctica has long fascinated and attracted man, initially to prove its very existence, then to explore, exploit, research and conserve. Without doubt there is nowhere else like it on earth. Follow the history of Antarctic exploration through the eyes of the many artists who travelled with the expeditions, and learn what it is like to live and work as part of a research team.Both our speakers have provided emergency medical advice and cover to the British Antarctic Survey from their base at Derriford Hospital.
