Landulph local, Gideon Barrett, and his privateers sing acappella to produce a wonderful blend of male and female voices. Their infectious and enthusiastic performance of shanties, traditional folk music and Cornish songs promises to be a lively and hugely entertaining end to our 2023 Festival.
From the deep, resonating notes of the father and son bass to the high notes of the girls, Barrett’s Privateers have delighted audiences throughout Cornwall and well beyond with their broad, rich harmonies.
Based on the Cornish side of the beautiful Tamar Valley, Barrett’s Privateers formed with the desire to maintain their tradition of singing in pubs, whilst creating more polished performances to bring their entertaining brand of acapella singing to brand new audiences. Since forming in 2019 they have performed at a range of events from the Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival, to singing under the Christmas garland at Cotehele, to the highly acclaimed Rock Oyster Festival.
Doors and bar open at 7pm, event starts at 8pm.
